How to catch it

Target Dentex primarily by slow trolling live squid or cuttlefish near the seabed using downriggers or heavy sinker rigs. Vertical jigging with slow-pitch metal jigs or heavy soft plastics around underwater pinnacles and drop-offs is also highly productive. Present lures and baits within a few meters of the bottom and set the hook immediately upon feeling a strike.
